RingoDate is a global dating, relationship-discovery and matchmaking platform operated by Alliance Media LLC (Company Registration Number 09238782). This Privacy Policy explains how RingoDate collects, uses, shares, protects and retains personal information when you visit our website, create an account, use our matchmaking and social features, communicate with other members, make payments, receive gifts or use related services.
1. Who controls your information
Alliance Media LLC is the organisation responsible for deciding how and why personal information is processed through RingoDate. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to legal@ringodate.com.
2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on the features you use and may include:
- Account and registration information: name, email address, password hash, date of birth, age confirmation, country, city, gender, who you would like to meet, relationship goals, language and legal-consent records.
- Profile and matchmaking information: photographs, biography, interests, hobbies, lifestyle, faith, culture, ethnicity, education, profession, height, family plans, relationship preferences, compatibility answers and other details you choose to add.
- Sensitive profile information: genotype, optional blood group, health disclosures, religion, ethnicity, sexual-orientation information where later enabled, and other information that may receive special protection under applicable law.
- Identity and safety verification: the type and issuing country of an identity document, encrypted copies of a passport, national identity card, driver’s licence, Nigerian NIN slip or other accepted evidence, a verification selfie, verification status, reviewer notes and audit history.
- Content and communications: posts, photographs, videos, audio, livestreams, stories, comments, reactions, gifts, private messages, voice notes and call or livestream metadata. We do not use private messages for advertising profiling.
- Activity and relationship signals: likes, dislikes, favourites, matches, profile views, searches, filters, blocks, reports, friend or follow requests, interactions and recommendation feedback.
- Location information: country and city you provide, approximate location derived from an IP address, and precise device location only when you grant permission for a feature that needs it.
- Social-login information: provider account identifier, name, profile image and verified email where supplied by Google, X or another enabled provider. RingoDate does not permanently store provider access tokens for basic social login.
- Device, security and technical information: IP address, browser, device type, operating system, session identifiers, trusted-device tokens, login and verification events, cookie choices, security logs, crash information and diagnostic data.
- Payments, wallet and payout information: subscription and purchase records, currencies, credits, virtual gifts, wallet entries, commissions, refunds, chargebacks, payout requests, payout status and limited provider references. Full card details are normally collected directly by the payment provider rather than RingoDate.
- Support and legal information: support messages, complaints, safety reports, appeals, counselling enquiries, infringement notices and communications with us.
3. How we obtain information
We collect information directly from you, from your use of RingoDate, from other members who interact with or report content, from enabled social-login providers, from payment and payout providers, and from service providers that help us prevent fraud, deliver communications, host media or maintain platform security.
4. Why we use information
We process information for the following purposes:
- creating, authenticating and securing accounts;
- verifying email addresses, age, profile photographs and identity;
- providing personalised matchmaking, discovery, compatibility explanations and search;
- operating profiles, social feeds, messaging, calls, livestreams, gifts and community features;
- processing subscriptions, credits, purchases, refunds, earnings and payouts;
- preventing bots, scams, fraud, fake accounts, harassment, unsafe conduct and payment abuse;
- moderating content, reviewing reports, enforcing rules and handling appeals;
- providing customer support, relationship-counselling contact features and service notices;
- improving performance, accessibility, reliability, design and feature effectiveness;
- meeting legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, record-keeping and law-enforcement obligations; and
- protecting the rights, safety and property of members, RingoDate and others.
5. Lawful bases
Where laws such as the Nigeria Data Protection Act, UK GDPR or EU GDPR apply, RingoDate relies on one or more lawful bases depending on the activity:
- Contract: to create and operate your account and provide the features you request.
- Legitimate interests: to secure the platform, prevent abuse, improve services, understand feature performance and protect members, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: for optional marketing, non-essential cookies, precise location and certain sensitive information or features. You may withdraw consent, although this does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.
- Legal obligation: to comply with financial, regulatory, safety, tax, court or law-enforcement requirements.
- Vital interests or public interest: in limited circumstances involving serious safety risks or obligations recognised by applicable law.
6. Genotype, blood group and other sensitive information
RingoDate currently asks users to provide a genotype value, including a “Not sure” option, as part of registration and matchmaking. Blood group is optional. Because genetic, health, religious, ethnic and similar information may be highly sensitive, RingoDate requests explicit consent, limits access and provides privacy controls as those features become available. This information must not be used to discriminate against, harass or harm another person.
Whether a sensitive field is displayed to other members will depend on the feature, your settings and applicable law. Private identity evidence is never displayed on your public profile.
7. Profile photograph and identity verification
A clear main profile photograph is required before a member becomes eligible for matchmaking. When identity verification is enabled, RingoDate may also require an accepted identity document and a fresh selfie. Accepted document types may include a passport, national identity card, driver’s licence, Nigerian NIN slip or another government-issued document approved by RingoDate.
Identity evidence is stored separately from public profile content, encrypted before storage, protected by access controls and available only to authorised staff for identity, age, safety and anti-fraud review. Staff access and verification decisions are audit logged. The current system uses guided selfie capture and human review; it does not claim automated biometric liveness or face-recognition verification unless that capability is separately introduced and disclosed.
8. Matchmaking, AI and automated features
RingoDate may use profile details, preferences, location, activity, interests, values and relationship goals to rank or explain recommendations. AI-assisted tools may help draft profile text, suggest matches, generate conversation starters, identify possible safety concerns or support moderation. Matchmaking and compatibility indicators are suggestions only and do not guarantee identity, safety, compatibility, a meeting or a relationship.
RingoDate does not intend to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing without appropriate safeguards. Where an automated signal materially restricts an account, RingoDate may provide human review or an appeal process where required.
9. What other members can see
Information you add to a public or member-visible profile may be seen by other members according to your privacy settings and feature permissions. This can include your name or display name, age, location, profile photographs, biography, interests, relationship goals, verification badge and content you publish. Private messages, identity documents, payout details, passwords and private security records are not made public.
Other members may save or share information you make visible. Use care when posting personal details, and use block, report and privacy controls when necessary.
10. Sharing with service providers and third parties
We may share information with carefully selected providers that help operate RingoDate, including hosting and security providers; Cloudflare for media delivery or direct video uploads; Agora for calls or livestreaming; Google and X for social login; email, SMS and push-notification providers; Stripe, Kora, Flutterwave, PayPal or banking partners for payments and payouts; analytics and fraud-prevention providers; customer-support tools; professional advisers; and authorities where disclosure is legally required or reasonably necessary to prevent harm.
Providers receive only the information reasonably required for their role and are expected to process it under contractual, confidentiality, security and legal obligations. RingoDate does not sell private conversations or identity-verification documents to advertisers.
11. International transfers
RingoDate is a global service, so information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use recognised safeguards such as contractual protections, transfer assessments, provider security reviews or other legally approved mechanisms.
12. Cookies and similar technologies
RingoDate uses essential cookies and similar technologies for login, account security, trusted devices, preferences, forms, payments and core website operation. With consent where required, we may also use analytics, performance or marketing technologies. You can manage available choices through cookie and privacy settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login or other core features from working.
13. How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing the service, maintaining security, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements and meeting financial or legal obligations. Retention varies by data type and account status.
- Account and profile information is generally kept while the account is active and for a limited period after closure where needed for restoration, safety, fraud prevention or legal claims.
- Payment, payout, tax and accounting records may be retained for the period required by applicable law.
- Moderation, report and security evidence may be retained where necessary to prevent repeat abuse, investigate incidents or defend legal claims.
- Identity documents and verification selfies are scheduled for secure deletion after a verification decision according to the administrator-configured retention period, unless needed for an active appeal, fraud investigation, safety incident or legal obligation.
- Deleted information may remain in protected backups until the normal backup cycle expires.
14. Security
RingoDate uses administrative, technical and organisational measures designed to protect information, including encryption for private identity evidence, access controls, secure password hashing, verification controls, rate limits, audit logs, restricted staff permissions, protected provider credentials and security monitoring. No online system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your password and device, do not share verification codes, and report suspicious activity promptly.
15. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- be informed about how your information is used;
- access or receive a copy of your information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion in appropriate circumstances;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing relies on consent;
- request portability of information you provided;
- object to direct marketing;
- request human review of certain automated decisions; and
- complain to an appropriate data-protection authority.
To exercise a privacy right, contact legal@ringodate.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some information may be retained where permitted or required for safety, fraud prevention, legal, tax or financial reasons.
16. Account closure and deletion
You may request account closure through available account settings or by contacting us. Closing an account removes it from normal member use, but some records may remain for the retention reasons explained above. Content shared with other members may remain in their conversations or records where deletion is not technically or legally required.
17. Adults only
RingoDate is intended only for adults aged 18 or older. We may request additional age or identity evidence and may restrict or remove an account when age requirements are not met. If you believe a minor is using RingoDate, contact us immediately.
18. Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. You may also complain to the data-protection authority responsible for your location. In Nigeria, this may be the Nigeria Data Protection Commission; in the United Kingdom, this may be the Information Commissioner’s Office; and in the European Economic Area, it may be your national supervisory authority.
19. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the platform, providers, laws or processing activities change. We will publish the updated date and, where a change is material, provide an additional notice or request renewed acknowledgement or consent.
